The heat numbs the taste buds and at worst the wine tastes practically like water. Alcohol further intensifies the burning sensation on the mucous membranes. The only wines that work well with spicy heat are white wines with high residual sugar.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wines made from the Gew\u00fcrztraminer grape variety are particularly suitable, as the grape is so aromatic and only slightly acidic. For Thai dishes with plenty of chili and heat, <strong>Wolfberger Signature Gewurtztraminer<\/strong> is ideal.
