Valter L\u00f6nnberg<\/strong> is working hard in his summer job at Norex. <\/p>\n\n

Valter has a background in the restaurant industry and catering services, so ending up at Norex for a summer job was a natural path. “I’ve always been fascinated by the world of wines and wanted to work with these products,” he says. Now his days are spent as a substitute for Norex’s logistics coordinators. “I process orders, track product movements, and resolve any problem situations. The job also includes receiving and confirming orders, making sure everything runs according to plan,” Valter lists. <\/p>\n\n

Valter is particularly interested in the complex processes of logistics. “It’s been fascinating to notice that although logistics looks simple from the outside, it requires a lot of work and precision. Understanding the processes more deeply has been eye-opening, and I’ve realized how many variables need to be taken into account,” he reflects. “When one mistake happens, many things need to be corrected, which makes the work challenging but at the same time educational.” <\/p>\n\n

Companies expect initiative and problem-solving skills from all employees. When areas for improvement are identified, it’s worth offering solutions. Valter has already done this. “Regarding these logistics processes, I’ve noticed one aspect that could be reconsidered. In some processes there are so many chains that communication can turn into ‘broken telephone’. Could the solution be to reduce intermediaries, making the connection to suppliers more direct and processes smoother,” he ponders. <\/p>\n\n

Plans for a Future in the Industry<\/h4>\n\n

Application papers for Aalto University’s Industrial Engineering and Management program are in progress, but a decision on a study place hasn’t come yet. However, working alongside studies is on Valter’s mind. After his studies, he hopes to find his place in the restaurant and wine industry. “I’m interested in developing something new and innovative in these fields, traveling around the world, and meeting new people.” <\/p>\n\n

“This summer job has taught me a lot and positively influenced my career plans and thoughts about the future,” Valter says. He warmly recommends summer jobs at Norex to other students as well. “The instruction and orientation are excellent, and the work tasks are interesting. The work atmosphere is encouraging and educational, and colleagues are always ready to help. This summer job offers an excellent opportunity to develop yourself and gain valuable work experience,” he praises. <\/p>\n\n
