Salla Sormunen laughs at her comment but doesn’t take it back. The phrase “love at first sight” refers to the connection. “When I first sat down to talk with Tomas and eventually got to know the team… We were immediately on the same wavelength,” she explains. <\/p>\n\n

Salla could have chosen another employer. Or a third one. She had several job offers on the table when she ended up at Norex. The choice was ultimately easy. “Norex has an excellent reputation in the import world. Former colleagues of mine work here and I knew they were happy. The company’s vibe attracted me.” <\/p>\n\n

In her work, Salla is responsible for the Helsinki area as well as Turku and the west coast regions. “I worked in the restaurant industry in Turku for almost 10 years, so it was natural to take on the west coast as part of the sales team.” In addition to sales, she is also responsible for Norex’s events. “It’s my passion! At events I get to express myself freely and I feel that I have management’s trust.” <\/p>\n\n

The best thing about events, according to Salla, is the human contact. “That’s when you get direct and genuine feedback from the consumer interface. In our industry, we also create good spirit with competitors. It’s important that the industry sticks together and we as companies support each other\u2014and this is visible precisely at various events.” <\/p>\n\n

We walk together always, we always walk side by side…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

“All Norex people have a clear common goal that we’re working towards,” Salla describes the team spirit. A good basic atmosphere ensures that any uncomfortable situations that are part of everyday life are addressed, not swept under the rug. “Here we also talk about difficult things, in a solution-focused way,” she praises. <\/p>\n\n

For the future, Salla has a modest wish: stable employment. “During the corona period it was momentarily difficult, mentally as well. People worried about their jobs when many companies around us had to modify their operations. At Norex, however, trust was given to employees, we were taken care of,” she says. <\/p>\n\n

Warmth and family-like atmosphere is visible in Salla’s eyes throughout Norex, starting with the CEO. “Tumppi is a father figure. Sometimes he’s a good father, sometimes a strict father figure,” Salla laughs, but quickly becomes serious. “Tomas is people-oriented, and he doesn’t lead from an office, but face to face. I really appreciate that kind of leadership,” she says, comparing the situation to a large corporation she previously experienced, where the CEO wouldn’t sit at the same lunch table with subordinates. <\/p>\n\n

Salla also has career aspirations, but because she really likes her current employer, they are internal. “I’m interested in a product manager role. It would be a big thing to jump from sales to the product side, but there are already good stories of internal transfers here. Remains to be seen,” she smiles. <\/p>\n\n

So what makes the key account manager go to sleep with a good feeling at the end of the day? “A satisfied customer,” Salla states immediately. “Big thanks from a customer mean a lot. Thank you as a word is not a given these days.” <\/p>\n\n
