The winding fell road to the summit immediately creates a feeling that you’re heading somewhere special. Holiday cottages and a low, long main building come into view at the parking area.
As soon as you step inside, you notice you’ve arrived at a place where things have been thought through in detail. A large entrance hall allows customers to leave their outdoor overalls and other clothing to dry spaciously. Through the next doors you step into a high, large space with stunning views over the entire Syöte area. Directly ahead is a stylish reception and to the left a café and bar. The spacious lounge area features a magnificent fireplace that reaches the full height of the space. From the large windows you can continue admiring the scenery in the atmospheric restaurant, which restaurant manager Maiju Rumpunen has skillfully steered for several years. In addition to top-class à la carte experiences, the menu also features the house’s own delicious burger!
The road to success
The hotel’s road to success has not been entirely smooth, as the original building was destroyed in a fire in 2018. This did not discourage entrepreneur Juha Kuukasjärvi, and the new hotel was built with reverence, down to every last detail!
The walls feature art by Katariina Kuukasjärvi, the other half of the entrepreneurial couple, and the interior design has clearly been invested in: the room doors are decorated with prints made from the lady’s paintings.
The Arctic Spa with stunning views is part of the new building’s high-quality repertoire. The hotel roof also features a magnificent viewing terrace, Skywalk, where weddings have also been performed.
This story doesn’t end here, as new things are coming—but those are stories worthy of their own articles.
