Casa Ermelinda Freitas

Producer Ermelinda Freitas is among the five largest Portuguese producers and is the largest in the Península de Setúbal region. The company remains family-owned and has operated since 1920. Ermelinda Freitas also owns estates in the Vinho Verde and Douro regions. In total, they own 550 hectares of vineyards and have contracts with other growers. Altogether, thirty different grape varieties are cultivated in these vineyards. Ermelinda Freitas wines are internationally awarded, and they have been named European Producer of the Year twice.
