Château Fontesteau cultivates classic red Bordeaux grapes in a unique setting. The castle in the Haut-Médoc region is a genuine historic fortress, built in 1277. The Château Fontesteau estate covers a total of one hundred hectares. The castle and its lake are surrounded by ancient oak and pine forests, home to diverse flora and fauna. Preserving the area’s unique biodiversity is part of daily life, and the vineyards are now managed using organic methods. The soil of the twenty-hectare vineyards consists of gravel and clay over a large limestone layer. The estate’s 37 plots grow Bordeaux red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate is classified as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.
