Located in the heart of Bordeaux’s Haut-Médoc, Château Maucamps has been known for its excellent wine since the 19th century. In 1954, a significant new chapter began thanks to an exceptional woman, Gisèle Tessandier (née Thomas de Dancourt). A visionary descendant of French nobility, she acquired Château Maucamps in January 1954, determined to restore the estate to its former glory. Tragically, Gisèle died in June of that year. Her husband, Jacques Tessandier, took over the estate. Today, the family legacy is continued by Emmanuel, Gisèle’s grandson. The 90-hectare estate balances wine production with biodiversity conservation. 22.5 hectares are dedicated to vineyards, while the rest consists of meadows, forests, and flowering fallows, carefully managed to protect the environment and promote rich ecosystems. Château Maucamps has received the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification.
