Joseph Perrier is a renowned Champagne house founded in 1825 by Joseph Perrier, recently celebrating its 200th anniversary. In 1888, it was purchased by the Pithois family, who chose to keep the original name. The following year, Joseph Perrier became a Champagne supplier to Queen Victoria and her son, Edward VII. Joseph Perrier remained a family business for over 150 years and has stayed in Châlons-en-Champagne. Colloquially, the house is often identified simply as “Joseph” to distinguish it from other producers named Perrier. Joseph Perrier has 24 hectares of vineyards in the villages of Cumières, Damery, Hautvillers, and Verneuil. The wines are stored in over three kilometers of Roman-era cellars, 25 meters underground. In autumn 1998, Alain Thiénot acquired Joseph Perrier, which had previously been part of the Laurent-Perrier group. For six generations, the house has remained true to its core values: urban roots, high-quality Champagne, authenticity, and mastery of ancient know-how in the vineyards.
