Description
Château Puybarbe L’Étoile de Puybarbe is made from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines grow in highly calcareous clay soils with excellent drainage due to the area’s elevation differences. Wines from Côtes de Bourg are known for their deep dark colour, firm tannins, full-bodied character, and excellent ageing potential, and L’Étoile de Puybarbe is no exception. The wines are produced in a classical style and aged in oak barrels for 6–7 months in the cellar, which is clearly reflected in the flavour profile. Oak ageing also provides gentle micro-oxygenation, enhancing the wine’s complexity and structure. The estate is committed to sustainable and vegan viticulture as well as preserving biodiversity.
