Norex Responsibility Meter: Bodegas Enguera
The responsibility meter is an indicative description of the producer's level of responsibility and is based on Norex's own responsibility survey. Read more on our information pages.
Description
The Verdil grapes for Aliats Enguera were cultivated at an elevation of 650 meters in limestone-rich loamy soil. After harvest, stems were removed, and the pressed juice underwent an 8-hour maceration before a 25-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 12 °C. Maturation for three months occurred partially in stainless steel tanks and partially in French oak barrels. Verdil is a native Valencian variety that has been revived for the production of quality wines. The 16-year-old vineyard is surrounded by a Mediterranean forest. The bats on the label signify collaboration with bats hosted in the vineyards, each capable of consuming up to 1000 insects per hour. The label is designed by the legendary comic book artist Neil Adams. This organic wine is suitable for vegans.
