Where We Are Heading

Our Goals

Our Goals – One Step at a Time Toward a More Responsible Future

In 2023, we set ourselves an ambitious goal: to develop our operations to be even more responsible and advance sustainable development through concrete actions. The first step was to determine where we actually stand – and that is where the journey began.

  • Together with an expert organization, we conducted our first ESG assessment and produced our sustainability report for 2023.
  • As part of the ESG assessment, we calculated our carbon footprint according to the GHG standard, taking into account emission scopes 1, 2, and 3.
  • We renewed our Code of Conduct, our ethical operating principles Explore our Code of Conduct
  • We conducted our own internal sustainable development assessment

Through these measures, we now have a strong foundation to build upon.

What’s Next?

Goals for the coming years are currently under development. They will focus on themes including:

  • Clear and measurable sustainability targets
  • Systematic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
  • Stronger stakeholder engagement in sustainability work
  • Increasing environmentally friendly packaging formats
  • Favoring sustainably produced products

This page is evolving – just like our sustainability work. New goals will be published immediately after decisions are made, and with them, we will take the next step toward a more sustainable Norex.

1. Substance Abuse Program

During 2025, we will develop our own substance abuse program for Norex. It is an important part of a responsible workplace – the program supports early intervention, enhances employee well-being, and helps the company fulfill its responsibility toward its employees.

2. Producer Collaboration as Part of Sustainability Work

Our goal is that by 2030, sustainability metrics data will have been collected from all our wine and spirits producers – and updated annually as part of an established process.

The wine producer metrics have already been published and the first data collections are underway. For spirits principals, we are building our own questionnaire battery to obtain corresponding data from them as well.

3. Responsible Choices in Wine Packaging

Our goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of packaging. During 2026, 92% of our wines (measured in liters) will be packaged in lightweight or environmentally friendly packaging, such as glass bottles under 420 g and bag-in-box.

Since bottle-aged wines cannot currently be packaged in lightweight glass bottles, the target cannot be 100%.
