When ‘lamb mishwi’ is on the plate, it refers to spit-roasted, thinly sliced meat. It’s accompanied by vegetables and Baba Ganoush, an eggplant dip.
Lopez de Haro Crianza is a lightly spiced red wine from the Rioja region with good acidity. This makes it a great match for fatty and roasted meat. Château du Trignon Côtes du Rhône, on the other hand, is stylistically close to wines from the Middle Eastern region, with a berry-tart flavor that pairs well with this dish. A third excellent option is Pares Balta Indigena, a subtly oaked red wine with robust ripe berries.
The same recommended wines also work wonderfully as companions to the more familiar, everyday kebab dishes.
