Laurenz V. is a wine producer whose goal is to produce stylish, captivating, and vibrantly mineral wines from Austria’s signature grape, Grüner Veltliner. The producer focuses exclusively on Grüner Veltliner.
Winemaking runs in their family: Laurenz Moser V. (the fifth) is a descendant of the famous Austrian wine family Lenz Moser, representing 400 years of tradition in winemaking. He founded his company in 2004 together with Dieter Hübler and the Schweiger family.
A particularly special inspiration for them is still Dr. Lorenz Moser III, whose nickname is “Grandpa Grüner.” Grandpa Grüner developed the cultivation of this grape, believing it to be the perfect variety.
Laurenz V.’s winemaker is the exceptionally talented Peter Schweiger, whose roots in Kamptal go back five generations. He is being joined by his son Peter Jr., who graduated from his wine studies in 2012.
Laurenz V.’s mission is to play a leading role as Grüner Veltliner takes its place among the world’s finest white wines. Only Grüner Veltliner – pure enjoyment, a modern approach, and through them, more friends for this fine grape variety.

Sinfully Good
Forbidden by Laurenz V.
Forbidden Grüner Veltliner brings out the abundant fruitiness of this grape variety. Over a glass, one can ponder whether this wine is sinfully good and should be forbidden like the fruit of paradise or allowed precisely for that reason.
The long era of bone-dry Grüner Veltliners found a counterargument in this wine, and it opens a new perspective on the variety’s wines. The multifaceted fruitiness arises as warm air rises from the Danube to the slopes of Kamptal and Kremstal, and it is complemented by fresh acidity as the cool air from Waldviertel contributes to the conditions.
A delicious social wine that pairs well with savory snacks. With cheeses, Forbidden is excellent both thanks to its acidity, which cuts through fattiness, and its slight sweetness, which suits salty cheeses well. Naturally, it also suits Asian dishes and spicy delicacies.
Brightly fruity, off-dry, nuanced, vibrantly acidic, and balanced. The wine is suitable for vegans.
