Stemmari

In 2000, Gruppo Mezzacorona made the decision to expand its operations into Sicily in response to market demands and to produce wines in a warmer climate. They acquired approximately 900 hectares of vineyards in Sambuca di Sicilia and Acate. Stemmari represents an excellent example of wines crafted with the unwavering Trentino mentality while honoring the soil and climate of Sicily. The range comprises intense, elegant wines made from indigenous Sicilian varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Grillo, alongside other international varieties that have adapted exceptionally well to Sicilian conditions. It is often said that Sicilian wines bridge the gap between old-world and new-world styles, showcasing the characteristics of both. Gruppo Mezzacorona has brought the familiar Trentino approach and commitment to sustainability to Sicily. While some of their production is already organic, starting from the 2020 vintage, the entire production will be certified organic.
