Description
The grapes for Domaine des Sénéchaux’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape grow on clay- and sand-based, stony soils. The stones would be far too large for a sauna stove. Thyme and lavender accompany the wine. The stony terrain evens out the temperature differences between day and night, which accelerates the ripening of the grapes. A traditional blend of dark, thick-skinned grapes forms the base of this wine on this classic estate. Grenache Noir dominates, giving the blend its lifeblood with dark, warm, and sweet tones. Syrah and Mourvèdre provide balance and structure. Cinsault-Vaccarèse adds the final touch to the lively whole.
