It’s easy to find several excellent wine pairings for lamb fillet. A safe and classic combination is, for example, a mature red wine from the Rioja region. Italy also works—it’s worth investing in a quality Chianti Classico when serving lamb fillet. If the budget requires a slightly more affordable option, there are certainly excellent alternatives available as well: for example, a good New World Cabernet Sauvignon.
Grilled lamb also pairs wonderfully with Californian Zinfandel. It’s a trusted wine for grilling in general, as the residual sugar works well with even slightly charred flavors.
