Mezzacorona Sauvignon Blanc, Mezzacorona Merlot and Maso di Mezzo Riesling x Sylvaner
Norex’s selection now features even more Mezzacorona. The newest members to join the classic range are Maso di Mezzo Riesling x Sylvaner, Mezzacorona Sauvignon Blanc and Mezzacorona Merlot.
Mezzacorona is a cooperative founded in 1904 in Trentino Alto Adige, known as an efficient producer of high quality.
From a viticulture perspective, the region’s location is ideal. The soil, altitude, Mediterranean and Alps create several different microclimates and vineyards that provide optimal conditions for many different grape varieties.
Sustainable development is at the core of the producer’s operations. Mezzacorona received the SQNPI sustainability certification in 2016.
Mezzacorona cooperative currently has over 1,500 grower members and approximately 2,800 hectares of vineyards in total. Mezzacorona’s agronomists assist growers in selecting the most suitable varieties for each vineyard and soil type.
Almost all waste is recycled and the amount of waste produced decreased by as much as 56% between 2015 and 2019. 70% of the wine cellars are located underground, so temperature and humidity remain ideal without mechanical regulation. A significant portion of electricity is produced by solar panels, and local operators are supported in procurement.

Maso di Mezzo Riesling x Sylvaner
In the village of Mezzo, good wine has always been highly valued. It has been served at communion and was even once offered as a sacrifice for the salvation of the soul.
High up under the protection of the mountains, the vine must naturally adapt to the prevailing conditions. Swiss Hermann Müller developed a cross between Riesling and Sylvaner, and this Müller-Thurgau grape is a perfect fit for the Val di Cembra valley.
This renowned historical success is now brought to the present day in the form of the aromatic and fresh specialty Maso di Mezzo Riesling x Sylvaner.
In this wine, Riesling’s acidity combines with Sylvaner’s sweeter and riper fruitiness, bringing greetings from the slopes of the Dolomites. The taste is long and balanced, refreshingly acidic and brightly fruity.
Maso di Mezzo Riesling x Sylvaner is an ideal risotto wine, a companion to fish dishes and of course an excellent aperitif.

Mezzacorona Merlot
Merlot is an international grape variety that Mezzacorona’s members grow in the Arco area north of Lake Garda in Trentino. From there, this Merlot gets its softness, excellent balance and unfailing elegance. This wine has been awarded many times over the years.
A strong performer on the food front, Mezzacorona Merlot is particularly enjoyable as a meat wine and a companion to richly flavoured stews. It also pairs beautifully with a cheese platter.
In taste, Mezzacorona Merlot is juicily fruity, elegant and rich with silky tannins.
