Behind the scenes, there’s a lot going on
Marianne Halme has been working at Norex for nearly 12 years. Her diverse responsibilities and hands-on approach keep customers satisfied and service top-notch!
Marianne, who works as a logistics coordinator at Norex, has previously worked in similar roles, albeit in a different industry. “I ended up at Norex when I found a job posting that was in a convenient location and offered interesting tasks. Norex provided exactly what I was looking for.”
Marianne’s responsibilities are diverse: processing orders for restaurant and wholesale customers, customer service, and maintaining customer databases. “My number is the one that comes to customers’ minds first in problem situations,” she laughs. “I also do invoicing and many other background tasks, and I’ve been involved in developing the online store and the new ERP system,” she lists her varied responsibilities.
“In the past, my tasks included a broader range of different things,” Marianne says. “As the company has grown, we’ve gained more people and been able to divide tasks more specifically. Now I can focus on certain tasks,” she clarifies. “It’s been wonderful to be part of it and watch how the company has grown significantly over the years.”
Successfully managing Marianne’s role requires many skills, from the right attitude to numerical accuracy. “We have really nice customers, and I get along well with them. I enjoy working with customers. Good customer service is really important to me, and it feels good when you can be helpful,” she says. “At the same time, this job requires precision to ensure the right products reach the right customers at the right time. It’s important to verify and make sure that customers receive their ordered products on time.”
The highlight of the day
“We have a really good team here,” Marianne smiles. “That’s one reason why I’ve enjoyed it here for so long. Sometimes a workday can feel heavy, but that feeling doesn’t last long, because it’s easy to get along with colleagues and enjoy being here.”
“Over these years, I’ve learned a lot about wines through training and tastings,” she says. Sometimes it was difficult to find wines that suited me. “Now I’ve learned what kinds of wines suit me and what things and conditions can affect wine. Very interesting and useful,” Marianne notes.
She looks to the future with a positive mindset. “I want to continue developing in this role and see where the company’s growth takes us!”
