New: Barton & Guestier Noémie Vernaux and Réserve Chardonnay

Burgundy delights have arrived at Norex, and in what company. Allow us to introduce: the historic businesswoman Lady Noémie Vernaux. We also present the elegant Réserve Chardonnay.

Lady Noémie Vernaux is a remarkable figure in Burgundy’s history. She was a tenacious entrepreneur and strong-willed woman who founded a wine business in 1851. At that time, a woman in business was truly exceptional. The business still bears the Vernaux name, and it represents quality and expertise with the same determination and passion as Noémie Vernaux herself once did.

Lady Noémie Vernaux Chardonnay and Merlot are produced by Barton & Guestier, which has been in business for nearly three centuries.

Barton & Guestier focuses on offering high-quality, typically French wines to the world while meeting sustainability requirements. Its range offers an impressive array of France’s key wine regions: Bordeaux, Loire Valley, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhône Valley, Languedoc, Gascony and Corsica. The producer works with around 200 winemakers in these regions.

Elegant and generous

Noemie Vernaux Chardonnay

The delicious and elegant Noémie Vernaux Chardonnay could, when tasted blind, be guessed to come from the Mâcon or Chalon region. The wine’s quality is therefore excellent. Serve this Chardonnay chilled at 8-10 °C.

Noémie Vernaux Chardonnay is appropriately suited as a wine for quality fish dishes, shellfish, white meat and mild cheeses. Caesar salad is also an excellent choice to enjoy with this wine.

Generously fruity, elegantly acidic, mineral, balanced and long. Vanilla lingers in the long finish.

Structured meat wine

Noemie Vernaux Merlot

Noémie Vernaux Merlot is an enjoyable meat wine that also works as a game wine. Thanks to its acidity, it is also a versatile companion for cheeses. Serve this Merlot slightly chilled, at around 13-15 °C.

Noémie Vernaux Merlot’s taste is lighter than the aroma would suggest. The wine is crisply acidic, elegantly fruity, silky tannic and long.

Versatile quality wine

Barton & Guestier Réserve Chardonnay

Barton & Guestier’s long and extensive experience is a guarantee for this wine. The Réserve designation on the bottle label gives permission to expect an even slightly better wine than Pays d’Oc IGP alone would promise.

The grapes’ origin in the Languedoc-Roussillon region makes the wine moderately priced compared to, say, Burgundy equivalents. Limoux grapes bring structure and freshness to the blend, and the Gard grapes contribute elegance and creaminess. Harvesting was done in the morning and evening, and brief skin contact before fermentation gave the wine complexity. This wine is a consumer’s and wine lover’s delight.

Barton & Guestier Réserve Chardonnay thrives as a pleasant social wine, but is also a highly versatile king of the dining table. At its best, it tastes wonderful with white meat, poultry, salads and pasta. The wine is also suitable for a vegan diet.

The dry and crisply acidic wine is juicily fruity, balanced and long. A hint of oak and vanilla is felt in the finish.
