Weingut Braun syntyi Meckenheimissa nykyomistajien isovanhempien perheyritysten yhdistyessä 1970-luvulla. Ellerstadtin ja Meckenheimin omistuksille ei tarvinnut miettiä yhdysnimeä, sillä molempien osapuolten nimi oli Braun, vaikka he eivät olleet sukua keskenään.
