Silver for ArtSpritz at the International Spirits Awards
ArtSpritz has won silver at the ISW International Spirits Awards. Organized by the Meininger publishing house, which specializes in beverage publications, the competition has been held for 17 years in Neustadt, Germany, where experts taste and evaluate drinks from all over the world annually.
ArtSpritz is a historic orange-herb aperitif from Piedmont, particularly popular in Northeast Italy. The name “Spritz” comes from the German verb “spritzen” (to spray/splash) dating back to the Habsburg era. Austrian soldiers found the wines of Veneto too strong, so they ordered their wine diluted with water. ArtSpritz is wine-based, low in alcohol, sweet, and has a recognizable orange-red color. Thanks to its complex and sophisticated flavor, it is an excellent ingredient for cocktails as well as served as is over ice.
